Importance of advertising

Importance of anything can be realized only in its absence. So the article must stress upon what if advertising would not have been there. None would have been fooled by anyone. This answer is true to  some extent. An example must be inserted to explain this in a better way:

Kent water purifying water system claimed in one of its advertisements that it gives sweet water —–Water has a neutral taste then what is the concept of sweet water.

Safola’s Rice is another product that projects it does not make you feel sleepy like other rices. I request the readers to eat those rice & check. Saffola is also fooling audiences.

Dove talks about no make up face. Does the wife of Dove marketer’s live without make up? The ads are hilarious but they are significant enough to fool the audiences.

Olay is an ant-wrinkle amd whitening cream shows Kajol (the celebrity) with extra white face. We all know about the whitish complex of Kajol even then we accept these advertisers to fool us.

This is one view if advertising would not have been there. Another perspective talks about the awareness. Yes this is something serious. Lack of advertisement would have led to zero awareness. How many of us would have known about Surf Excel Matic- a specific detergent used for front door washing machines. Who would have communicated us about iPhone -5 after iPhone-4? How would you have got to know about the better products available in the market. Our purchasing pattern totally depends upon the awareness spread by advertisements. Harpic a toilet cleaner would not have made its market share without advertisement. Harpic’s ad explicitely explains a house wife about the Harpic Toilet cleaner & its usage in a 20 sec advetisemnt. This awareness has led each woman to keep Harpic in her toilet keeping the toilet fresh & clean.

Understand advertisements with your eyes & ears wide open to make out which is authentic & which is fooling you. I think the  importance of advertising is clear to all by now.
